Interested in research in probability?
Join us this summer for a new eight-week long (M 06/04 through F 07/27) Markov Chains REU at the department of mathematics at UConn.

- We will explore the rich and fascinating theory, ubiquitous and surprising applications of Markov Chains, and will tackle some real research problems.
- We will have regular weekly guest speakers and mini-courses, as well as regular recreational math sessions.
- We will work on scientific communication, teamwork skills and technical skills (writing proofs, LaTeX, creating simulations).
- We will work on grad school applications, and will followup and support participants after the program.
We are a small program, with eight student participants and three staff members who will be active and present in the program.
The program is organized by Dr. Iddo Ben-Ari and is generously funded by a grant from the National Security Agency.
